Kenya’s average crude national suicide death rate is estimated at 6.1 per 100,000 population with a male-to female ratio of 3:1. The Government has laid out an elaborate strategy to address the suicide mortality problem amongst men and its high negative impacts on society.
There is an adage that states, "A boy fallen is a society fallen." This is accurate since every man who kills himself leaves behind a woman who will suffer terribly. This might be a mother, a wife, or a sibling.
The realities of suicide are illustrated in my animation, Chacha. Although this is a work of fiction based on true events, depression, suicide, and their effects are universal.
My name is Wilfrida Achieng, and I'm now enrolled in Year 4 Term 3 of the Bachelor of Technology in Design program at The Technical University of Kenya. I am an experienced Interactive Media Designer with a track record of success in the consumer products sector.
