People say mean things about you, and they should not define you. You are the only one who can define who you are.

A friend told me the story of their pain. This is for her. Women can be cruel and especially to each other. Don't mind find healing and people who treasure you.

I am Tessie Gachoka, known as Tachoka. I was born in 2000 and am Kenyan. I create art that speaks to my African heritage and social issues.

My compositions transition seamlessly between traditional and digital art. As a graphic designer, I love creating patterns and have a strong passion for branding. The paintings in this collection are visual expressions of women and their pain and hearing after violation. They form part of my undergraduate body of work. They were geared towards creating visual illustrations that communicate effectively to a rape victim to heal purposely and live fearlessly.
