Rebecca Aigner, Body Norm, 2023
My art project “Body Norm” deals with the question of what value beauty has in our society. Inspired by the Body Neutrality and Body Positivity movements, I want to question the importance we attach to our outer appearance. What story does our appearance tell? This photographic work questions societal norms of beauty and opens an auditory approach to the stories of the people photographed. My goal is to enter into a dialogue with the viewers and in this way address the question of the status of beauty.
