Her artistic work focuses on the question of identity, and her source of inspiration is strong women who have left their mark on history in general, and her personal history in particular. Through her portraits of sturdy, imposing female figures, depicted using the mixed techniques of wool weaving and collage, Francine expresses the strength of women's assertiveness in society, and particularly in her own, which is not always obvious.
