On 8 September, a one-day workshop was held between representatives of the NMG (Dr Malik Saako Mahmoud, Elizabeth Asafo-Adjei), MFK (Dr Stefan Eisenhofer) and EVC (Dr Ernst Wagner). The aim was to daft a concept for cooperation between the two museums as part of the jointly developed and signed ‘Memory of Understanding’. The participants elaborated the idea of a joint exhibition on the topic Intercultural processes, important encounters, mutual influences between West Africa and Europe, told by (primarily) using objects from the collections of the National Museum of Ghana and the MFK Munich.
This exhibition will be accompanied by a catalogie and exist in two versions:
- An analogue travelling exhibition based on photos of selected objects.
- A digital, virtual, more interactive version
